SFSCI MEMBER AWARDS

Members can receive prestigious awards for seniority and merit. To nominate a member of SFSCI for one of our awards, simply fill out this nomination form: https://sciences.sfi.org/award-nomination-form/

Unless otherwise indicated, candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by others

Here are the following awards that any member has the opportunity to receive:

Gladstone Award
Awarded to Cadets who graduate from the Vulcan School of Sciences 

Keiko O’Brien Award
Awarded to any SFISCI member who completes one entire school within the Institute of Sciences as well as one entire school within the Institute of Alien Studies, simulating a demonstration of the principles taught by the namesake educator of inclusion of all species within the Star Trek universe where education is concerned.

Vidiian Exploratory Award
Awarded to members of SFISCI for exploring a diverse 
number of courses out of the Institute of Medical Arts, Institute of Science, Institute of Space Studies, Institute of Technology, and the College of Temporal Physics within the Institute of Star Trek Studies. Members are expected to complete a total of 25 courses, with no more than 5 courses coming from any one college.

Emory Erickson Award
Awarded upon the completion of six (6) Science Auxiliary Academy Challenges

Uhura Award
Awarded to members who have gone above and beyond, and made significant sustained contributions to communications e.g. submitting articles to the Event Horizon Newsletter, posting on SFSCI social media, and/or doing outreach on behalf of Sciences.

Nomination for this award can be made by the CO / Regional Science Liaison or RC / Director of Sciences

Science Officer of the Month
Awarded monthly to a Science Officer of STARFLEET International who has shown exemplary service in promoting the sciences within their Chapter or Region. This Award gives its holder the exclusive right to park their shuttle at the STARFLEET Sciences Headquarters VIP docking bay for thirty days.

Nomination for this award can be made by the CO / Regional Science Liaison or RC / Director of Sciences
Nominations must be submitted by the 25th of the month

Science Officer of the Year
This prestigious annual award is given to a Science Officer of STARFLEET International who has shown consistent dedication and excellence in promoting the sciences within their Chapter or Region. Their conduct has been exemplary and represents the highest ideals of Star Trek.

Nomination for this award can be made by the CO / Regional Science Liaison or RC / Director of Sciences
This award is given during the annual SFI International Conference. Nominations must be submitted by July 1st

Region of the Year – Sciences
This annual award recognizes the Region in STARFLEET International that has outstanding participation by its Chapters in the area of Sciences. This
Region serves as an inspiration to all of STARFLEET in it contribution to promoting education and opportunities to its members in the area of
the Sciences.

Nomination for this award can be made by the Regional Science Liaison or RC / Director of Sciences
This award is given during the annual SFI International Conference. Nominations must be submitted by July 1st


SFSCI STAFF AWARDS

Heim Award – Awarded by the Director of SFSCI to a staff member who has displayed exemplary dedication and service to the Auxiliary. The staff member reflects the ideals of Star Trek and serves as an inspiration to others. This award is named in honor of Admiral Richard Heim (Region 1), who has given decades of service to promoting Sciences in STARFLEET.
