First Contact
STARFLEET International has over 5,000 members from around the globe, giving us an incredible opportunity to learn about different cultures while sharing our love of Star Trek and science with chapters from other countries.
First Contact connects STARFLEET chapters from different countries, creating opportunities for members to learn from one another, exchange ideas, and discover more about the world we share.
Making First Contact
The idea for the First Contact program was inspired by the Sister Cities program, a form of agreement between two geographically and politically distinct localities for the purpose of promoting cultural and commercial ties.
As we follow the principles of Star Trek’s IDIC — Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations — creating First Contact with a chapter from another country on Planet Earth enriches our lives and broadens our horizons.
Participating chapters have opportunities to learn about what is happening in the Sciences in other parts of the world and share information about the lands and waters where they live, ecology and conservation work, space programs, places for away missions, and whatever else their curiosity leads them to explore.
How First Contact Works
Participation begins with your chapter’s Commanding Officer.
Apply
The Commanding Officer of your chapter completes the First Contact application form.
Connect
STARFLEET Sciences works to connect participating chapters with a chapter from another country.
Explore
Make First Contact, exchange knowledge and experiences, and discover more about each other’s cultures and communities.
